Day 1...Today is a day to rejuvenate from any jet-lag and to bond with your tribe...and we've got the perfect activity after that! After a light Breakfast you'll head out for a Snorkeling and Dolphin Adventure along the west side of O'ahu. You'll return to the retreat center for your first delectable Dinner followed by time to prepare for the week ahead.
Day 2...You'll begin each day with Yoga At The Beach (just a short stroll from the retreat center), Breakfast , then Teaching time followed by a yummy Lunch. Afternoons are reserved for fun and relaxation! Today you'll go on a Horseback Ride through one of the most beautiful valleys on the island, or if you're up for some thrills, try zip lining across the valley. After Dinner, sit back around the Campfire and enjoy a yummy local style dessert with time to Talk and Reflect with your tribe.
Day 3...This afternoon gives you some Free Time to relax -- hang out at the beach, lay under a palm tree and relax, those that have cars can go holo holo (road trip). Your retreat leader may even have other options for you. This evening you'll enjoy a delicious Dinner followed by a time-honored tradition, listening to Hawaiian Ghost Stories (told by a professional storyteller) around a cozy Campfire.
Day 4...Today you'll learn about early Hawaiian aquaculture practices at a restored Hawaiian Fishpond, which is over 800 years old. We'll return to the retreat center for another fabulous Dinner followed by a wonderful performance of Kahiko (ancient) and Awana (contemporary) Hula. You'll even learn a delightfully easy, but very elegant dance you can do for your friends at home.
Day 5...Today we're going to put you right in the middle of an indigenous Koa-wood forest, with a 2-mile Hike in Kahana Valley. On the way back we'll collect lauhala leaves, which you'll learn more about in tomorrows activity. After Dinner, enjoy some down time around the campfire to Talk Story With Your Tribe.
Day 6...After Lunch you'll spend time with a local jewlery maker who will teach you to Weave a beautiful bracelet with the lauhala leaves we collected yesterday, then you'll have free time until Dinner. This evening we have a very special treat. Our Kahu (minister, for lack of a better translation) and his ohana (tribe) will join us for dinner then lead us in a traditional 'Awa Ceremony. Conducted stricly in Hawaiian, it includes hula, chanting, and drinking the 'awa. Kahu's purpose is perpetuating traditional Hawaiian spirituality through rituals and ceremonies and we are blessed to have him with us.
Day 7...It's been an incredible week! Wrap up your last day with Yoga followed by a very light Breakfast before your final Teaching. Then enjoy our signature Guava Mimosa Lunch (virgin mimosas are available), followed by Group Photos, and Signing the autograph tree, which will enshrine your retreat in our living record. The afternoon is wide open. You may choose to depart today, but don't feel rushed! Stay one more day and enjoy an as-yet-to-be-determined activity or just spend some time on the beach. You'll enjoy a final Dinner and a relaxing night under the stars around the campfire.
